Who we Are

WHO ARE THE AGILITY JUNKIES®?

In 1998, Agility Junkies® Inc, a non-profit club, began to offer group classes. Some of the junkies are serious competitors, demonstrating their skills at agility trials. Others practice agility simply for the fun of it, or as a supplement to other disciplines such as obedience and conformation.

Lora, our director of training, and her dogs, have earned more than 100 titles in CPE, NADAC, USDAA and AKC agility, lure coursing, obedience, herding & flyball.

Lora believes positive reinforcement (using treats, toys and lots of praise) strengthens the human–canine bond and improves performance in dog sports.

Our Demos

Agility Junkies® Inc, does have a demo team of advanced level dogs. Our demo show is a fun performance of the skills it takes to make a successful agility dog. We have performed for non-profit organizations, as well as large scale productions such as the Chicago Highland Games. Contact Us if you would like an agility group to perform at your next fundraiser.

Our Trials

Agility Junkies® Inc frequently holds sanctioned agility trials for ASCA and NADAC.

OUR METHOD

We specialize in the introduction of "Green" dogs to the fun of agility. Our method is progressive and each dog is introduced to the obstacles slowly and safely. Handlers are encouraged to use food and toys to motivate the dogs, while learning to reward properly in order to shape behaviors and facilitate the learning process. Classes are small, no more than seven dogs to a group class. At Agility Junkies® Inc., we help set your dog up for success!
